EWP Training

Our Beginner and Refresher Courses typically cover Scissor Lifts & Knuckle Booms, however this can be modified to include either Cherry Pickers (Trailer Mounted) or Vertical Mast Lifts.

On successful completion of the Course, attendees are issued with electronic H.I.A.N.Z Silvercard Qualifications.
Conducted by our in-house skills-registered Assessor, you'll receive top-notch guidance to master the skills required. We provide everything you need: the venue, machines for training, and even refreshments including tea, coffee, and a light lunch for groups up to a maximum of 8 people.

On site customer training is also available and can be arranged by contacting one of the team.

Forklift Training

Our comprehensive course encompasses operator competency, F endorsement, and OSH full assessment training. Conducted by our in-house skills-registered Assessor, you'll receive top-notch guidance to master the skills required. We provide everything you need: the venue, machines for training, and even refreshments including tea, coffee, and a light lunch for groups up to a maximum of 8 people.

NZQA Course Unit Standards:
10851 Operate a Powered Industrial Lift Truck (Forklift)
18496 Operate a Forklift on a road (F Endorsement)

Please note: for the Forklift course, prior basic operator experience on relevant machines is required. Attendees should arrive an hour earlier for practical training onsite at MAC.

Those seeking credit for this unit standard to obtain an F (forklift) driver license endorsement must possess a current full class driver license.

Safety Harness at Height (EWP) Training

Our training aims to make your business operation a safer working environment whilst meeting compliance requirements. Mechanical Access Company is dedicated to the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment’s Targeted Harm Reduction Programme. Preventing falls from heights is a priority by ensuring that there is:

The Use of a Safety Harness System when working at Height Course covers

Adequate planning and hazard assessment
Sufficient training
Correct protection and equipment choices
Carrying out tasks with safer alternatives

Our trained and competent height safety equipment Inspector can :

Terminology related to fall hazards
Working from heights equipment and the inspection process
Correct Harness system for different MEWPs
Rescue Plans

On successful completion of the Course, attendees will have the qualification added to their Silvercard. Training is conducted by our Skills-Registered Trainer. MAC provides the venue, tea and coffee for groups up to a maximum of 8 people.

Harness Certification (EWP)

As with all other height safety equipment, harnesses must be inspected regularly to ensure they remain safe to use and they are fit for purpose. The harness should undergo a formal inspection every six months by a competent person. Six monthly checks must be recorded.

Identify industrial rope access equipment
Identify manufacturer’s maintenance instructions
Identify manufacturer’s maintenance specifications
Reject damaged and/or worn equipment
Record equipment inspections and maintenance procedures in a log

On site inspections : equipment can be dropped at MAC’s head office in Petone and collected again within 24 hours.

Alternatively, our Inspector can do on-site inspections

Cost

MAC site : $75 + GST per set
Customer site: $100 + GST per set *

*Costs may vary dependent on location to arrange your 6-montly inspection by our Safety Equipment Inspector,
